Create and Work with Library Data Services

This topic describes how to create and work with library data services.

Overview

You can create library data services in the following ways:

Manually Creating a Library Data Service

You can manually create a library data service using Oracle Data Service Integrator and add one or more functions and procedures to the data service.

To manually create a library data service:

  1. In the Project Explorer, click to expand the dataspace in which you want to create the library data service.
  2. Right-click a folder, such as Logical, and choose
    New > Logical Data Service

    The system displays the New Logical Data Service dialog.

  3. Type the name of the library, select Library Data Service as the type, and click Finish. The system creates the library data service and displays the Overview tab.

Creating a Library Data Service Function or Procedure

You can add a library function or procedure to a data service using Workshop for WebLogic.

How to Add a Library Function or Procedure

Editing a Library Data Service Function or Procedure Signature

You can edit the signature of a library function or procedure to modify the visibility, parameters, and return type, among other settings.

To edit a function or procedure signature:

  1. Open the service and click the Overview tab.
  2. Right-click the function or procedure and choose Edit Signature.
  3. Modify the signature, as appropriate.
  4. Click OK.
